COMMENT FROM RESIDENT (unedited):
RE: Security patrol - No, we do not have a security
patrol. Patrol Masters, and Patrol One before them,
are only on property to oversee parking/towing of
cars. They are not here for any other reason, and
since we are not having them check parking due to
them towing cars at random, they are not currently
doing anything. In my many years now of living
here, there has never been a security company. I
am always told to call police if there is an issue.
Another great reason why we should have gates
installed.

Comment: As many of you know, there have been many
break-ins into the garages in our community. My
garage was broken into 3 weeks ago. From it, a TV,
video camera, all my husband's tools as well as a
check book, to which they forged several checks.
We were in the process of remodeling our condo, so
left several items in our garage. We filed a police
report and reported it to Irene with the association.
Just this morning, as I was walking my dog, I saw
the sheriff with the resident at #392. His garage
was broken into as well, all items stolen. We have
a patrol unit, do we not? I heard a rumor that
their only purpose was to make sure owners have a
parking permit sticker in their window. While I
agree, parking should be monitored, our highest
priority should be that of the safety and the
protection of the residents. Why isn't the patrol
watching out for suspicious activity? I have never
seen a patrol unit since I moved here in June. I
have asked several neighbors, and they concur. I
would like to request to replace the security we
have, since they are not doing anything, and look
to hire new security who will patrol the condos
every night between 11:00pm and 6:00am. I have
noted, that's the time when most robberies have
occured. I am hopeful to be at the board meeting
on Monday. In the meantime, I wanted to let you
know my thoughts and to ask everyone to please
continue to be careful and make sure everyone has
a very strong lock on their garage doors.
Thank you!

COMMENT FROM RESIDENT (unedited):
I think that security gates are a wonderful idea.
Usually Police, Fire and Emergency people have a universal
code to get into such gated areas. I believe delivery
drivers (FedEx, UPS, USPS) also have one, but not the same
as the emergency response one. I also support the idea of
building "letters", not numbers. If we put building numbers
up, in addition to our condo number, I think this will be
confusing. If we put up letters instead, I think it would
be OK and easier to tell people to go to "J-712" instead of
"7-712". Plus, this will not affect our mailing address
with USPS, nothing will change if we put up building letters
(I checked).
