COMMENT FROM RESIDENT (unedited):
The last person to post is correct - Wally Thomas was
speaking of the lights costing 10k, not the bulletin
boards. I did give the board phone numbers of local
companies to call for quotes, but I can tell you as
someone who has worked in this industry, they will not
be cheap to produce - even for only 2 or 3. I also
agree that the trash area is NOT a good place to put
ANY signage - for many of the reasons the last person
mentioned, and more that only criminals think of. We
need to have a safe place for these bulletin boards
that everyone feels comfortable using.

COMMENT FROM RESIDENT (unedited):
RE: The last comments from resident.
1) QUESTIONS: Are you sure the HOA Board quoted 10K for a
bulletin board at both mailboxes? I was at the meeting and
thought Wally said the 10K was for a light pole installation
at the mailboxes. Please confirm.
2) QUESTIONS: Per your suggestion re: placing the boards and
map inside the trash bin area: How do you know it would cost
less to install them in this area? Did you get a quote?
REMINDER: We used to have bulletin corkboards at the
mailboxes a few years ago and it looked fine. I agree that
the fluttering paper can look trashy at times, however, I
would rather have an organized mess than how it is now.
Since we cannot control the world, then we can t stop people
from taping signs to the mailboxes the way they are
currently, so we might as well keep with the original plan.
COMMENT: TWO THUMBS DOWN ON THE TRASH BIN IDEA. I am not
in favor for placing the bulletin boards near the trash area.
Further, if my dinner guests get lost in the complex, I
certainly would be embarrassed to ask them to go to the
TRASH BIN AREA to look for a map, especially if they re in
a sexy dress and high heels. Now THAT S trashy. If someone
is lost, I think hanging out in the trash area while
distraught would make a bad situation even worse. Who wants
to subject your guest to trash diggers and smelly trash
raise your hand? Besides, there is not good lighting in the
trash area, so that could lead to another additional expense.
As a result, I am not in favor of placing the maps in the
trash area either. I think the HOA Board should stick to the
original plan re: the bulleting board and the maps.

COMMENT FROM RESIDENT (unedited):
Comment: It was stated at the last board meeting (at the pool)
that placing a marque or bulletin board at both mail boxes to
communicate messages was quoted at approx $10,000 for a base and
whatever to institute. That is astronomically unacceptable. And
secondly, the mailboxes are not a place that I would want to see
a collage of materials fluttering in the wind and looking trashy
or to have another place for kids to graffiti or abuse. I suggest
mounting or gluing a corkboad to the inside doors or on the cement
block walls of each trash bin's housing for people to post notes
and communications that will not be torn down and thrown away.
Since everyone already uses the trash areas, this is a perfect
place to install these boards and for far less $ than the money you
have shopped around for. It is also an ideal place to post a map
of each phase of the complex to direct those visitors to when they
want to find a particular unit.
